Emergency Traffic

Management

Emergency response is a critical component of Lux Traffic service delivery and a core commitment to customers. Traffic incidents, infrastructure failures, hazardous spills, and unplanned events can occur at any time. Lux Traffic responds quickly, safely, and effectively to secure the site, protect the public, and support responders.

1.

Customer assurance

Clients rely on Lux Traffic for planned services and for rapid deployment during emergencies. A dedicated emergency response and standby crew ensures urgent situations are managed promptly, minimising disruption and restoring safe conditions as quickly as possible.

2.

Qualified and competent crews

Attending emergencies requires the highest level of qualifications and experience. Crews deployed to emergencies are staffed with AWTM ticket holders supported by experienced WTM and BWTM. This enables immediate decisions, rapid risk assessments, and necessary adjustments to Traffic Management Plans on the spot in compliance with requirements.

3.

Readiness and availability

Standby crews and equipment guarantee availability for emergency call-outs. Teams are positioned and resourced to reduce response times and mobilise without delay. Vehicles and equipment are kept in a state of readiness and stocked with essential signage, barriers, lighting, and personal protective equipment.

4.

Equipment and resources

Response teams carry the traffic control devices and safety infrastructure needed to secure a site immediately, including barriers, VMS boards, and lighting towers. This protects the public, emergency services, and road crews until permanent measures can be established.

5.

Integration with emergency services and stakeholders

During an emergency, crews coordinate with police, fire services, ambulance, utility providers, and local authorities. Lux Traffic establishes and maintains a safe traffic environment around the incident so emergency responders can work without additional risk from live traffic.

6.

Continuous improvement and training

Emergency response crews undergo additional training in rapid site assessment, hazard identification, and escalation protocols. Post-incident reviews are conducted to evaluate performance, identify lessons learned, and continuously improve response capability.
